Ways To Prepare For Citizenship Certification In The Immigration Process

To become a citizen, you must be at least 18 years old and have lived in the United States as a permanent resident for at least five years. If you are married to a U.S. citizen, you only need three years as a permanent resident.

You must complete an application for naturalization. After this, you will be required to attend an interview to discuss your petition. Unless you have secured a waiver, you will be asked to take an English and civics test, reviewing your understanding of the language and information about the United States.

Upon passing the test, interview and application portion of the process, if you are granted citizenship, you will attend a ceremony and take the oath of allegiance to the United States.

Appeals Process If You Are Denied

If your petition for naturalization is denied, our lawyers can help you appeal the decision. We will review the documentation and evaluate if any additional documents are needed.
